Area

A large blue square showed up in our room last night!  We decided to measure the inside of it.  We learned that measuring the inside of the blue square is called Area.  Wow!  What a big vocabulary word for Kindergarten!  We measured it using three different non standard units of measurement.  We measured Area using kids, composition books, and chairs.  We found out that the area was....

February 9

Book Bags
Please send book bags back to school when your child has read it at least 3 times. Each child receives a new book each week and is given individualized reading instruction. The new book is sent home when the previous book comes back to school.

Science
We will begin our unit on rocks, sand and soil. We will be talking about the properties of rocks... size, color, shape, and texture. Thanks for sending in rocks!


Language Arts
We will be talking about media literacy.  We will be looking at commercials and advertisements to see how print, colors, sounds, and movement influence people to buy a product.

Math
We will be creating graphs.

100th Day of School

We're having so much fun today in Kindergarten!  We've been in school for 100 days!  Wow!  We made 100 gumballs and 100 thumbprints.
